About

I am an Assistant Professor in the criminology program at the University of Texas at Dallas in the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences. I’ve created this blog as a platform to share some of my work, opinions and divulge research tips I have found helpful along the way.

My interests in the Criminology/Criminal Justice field are broadly the spatial analysis of crime, discretionary police behavior, and evaluations of crime reduction programs. I also have broader interests in statistical analysis and data visualization.

I am an active poster on several Q/A webforums, including two of the StackExchange sites, CrossValidated (the statistics site) and Geographic Information Systems. I also post frequently on the SPSS NABBLE Forum.

As a disclaimer, all of the work and opinions posted at this site are entirely my own, and are not reflective of any other institution I am affiliated with.

If you would like to contact me the best way is through email, and my personal email address is apwheele@gmail.com.
